Game 100: White Sox 1 – Cubs 8

Cubs bats finally come to life as they beat the White Sox 8-1.

The game was scoreless through the first four innings then Anthony Ranaudo hits a solo home run for his first career hit.

The score would remain the same until the bottom of the 6th inning, Kris Bryant hits a solo shot to tie the game at 1. This was also the Cubs first hit of the night.

After a Jason Heyward walk, Javier Baez hit a bomb to give the Cubs a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 7th.

That was the end for Anthony Ranaudo He went 6.2 innings giving up three runs on two hits while striking out three and walking four. Jason Hammell went 7 innings giving up one run on five hits while striking out seven and walking two.

The Cubs offense came to life in the bottom of the 8th. After Bryant got hit by a pinch and a Rizzo single, Ben Zobrist hit a double to left center scoring Kris Bryant. Extending the lead 4-1.

Jacob Turner came into the game after Carson Fulmer walked Montero. He got to face Addison Muscle… I mean Russell! He hit a grand slam to screw the closer and give the Cubs an 8-1 lead.

The story here will be Aroldis Champman making his Cubs debut. I’m gonna be honest I was afraid that he was going to hit someone and they would die but it didn’t happen! Woohoo! Champman had a 1-2-3 inning to finish the game

Next: Both teams play again tomorrow as the Cubs look to even up the series. First pitch is scheduled at 7:05pm CST. CSCh (Cubs), WGN (White Sox)

Fun Fact:

Final Thoughts:¬†Missed most of the game because I was at a concert, but as soon as I arrived home the Cubs started scoring! Not saying I’m good luck but I’m good luck!
