NLCS Game 4: Cubs 3 – Mets 8

The Mets came out scoring to begin this game. Curtis Granderson led off with a single. After back-to-back outs, Yoenis Cespedes came up. During his at-bat, Granderson stole second base and Cespedes walked.

With a full count, Luca Duda hit a 3 run home run giving the Mets a 3 run lead. The next batter, Travis d’Arnaud hit a home run to extend the Mets lead to 4.

The Mets weren’t finished Jason Hammel walked David Wright and he was done for the day. Travis Wood came in and allowed a single to Daniel Murphy. He strikes out Cespedes, then allows Duda to hit a double scoring giving the Mets a 6-0 lead.

The Cubs would try to make a comeback in the fourth, Jorge Soler led off the inning with a double. After a Kris Bryant walk, Anthony Rizzo walked to load up the bases for Castro. Castro hit a sharp line drive to David Wright for an out. Kyle Schwarber grounded out to put the Cubs on the board still down 6-1. Baez fouled out to end the inning.

Daniel Murphy hit a home in his 6th consecutive game to score 2 extending the Mets lead 8-1.

The Cubs would score in the bottom half of the inning, Soler led off the inning with a double, and Kris Bryant followed with a long home run cutting down to 5.

After a long at-bat, Familia strikes out Fowler to end the ball game and the series.

The amazing 2015 season ended tonight but still proud of the way the Cubs played all year. It was fun to watch and I’m excited for 2016. Congratulations to the Mets represent the National League well. There is always next year Cubs fans. 2016 here we come!
